Having the set of Kindle Fire Tablets will allow for different learning centers in my classroom. One way they will be used is by accessing a world of online books. Students can use a variety of apps that are geared for their reading level. Another way they will be used is by accessing different websites to practice their math facts. No more flash cards and dill and kill activities. These websites are more engaging and can encourage healthy competition within the classroom. I could download apps for various math practice skills for a math center, which would allow me to have activities for both my highest performing and most struggling students. My project will make a difference because, as I said before, these students are the digital learners. Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
