Providing a comfortable space for students helps foster a classroom community in which students feel cared for and safe. A community carpet allows for students to gather to discuss their ideas while collaborating during lessons. As a teacher, having a location to gather, no matter the age, helps to provide quality instruction through classroom meetings, read alouds and small group instruction. Giving students a place to choose a good book and read, means the world! Through this cozy space I am hoping to reach all my learners while nurturing their social and emotional needs!
