"Science is the desire to know causes." This is the desire that I hope to inspire in my classroom by providing an engaging, inquiry based environment where my students can feel like they are 'doing' science and not just memorizing facts off of a paper. I teach a 10th grade regents-based living environment class on Manhattan's lower east side and recent budget cuts have impaired our ability to get many of the materials we need to create this environment. With the help of donors like you I am working towards creating the kind of environment where science can be experienced, and not memorized.
