I am the librarian at a K -6 elementary school in Mississippi where 100% of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. I’m starting a few book clubs and we need several copies of the same books. After analyzing our universal reading screener, my assistant principal noticed that we have quite a few high level readers. She talked to me about challenging them and we decided to start literacy groups. I currently have two literacy groups. One is a group of nine 5th and 6th graders, the other is a group of eight 3rd and 4th graders.
