My school is a Title I school close to downtown Phoenix, AZ. We are considered a very low income school, servicing students who do not have much at home in terms of basic needs. All teachers at our school foster and love all students and strive to make learning fun and relevant for them while they are at school. The students in my class are 1st and 2nd grade English Language Learners. They come into school every day excited to learn our language so that they can use it at home to help their parents and families. My students are learning how to read and comprehend all kinds of texts. They are motivated and they love school.
