My students are wonderful!!! I admire them for coming to school and overcoming all the circumstances that they go through. A majority of my students come from low income families and live in the housing. Although they have very little resources, they have amazing amounts of energy and put 100% effort into their school work. They come from very difficult backgrounds but within our classroom, they become team players and each play an important part in our class family. This is my first year teaching 5th grade, and I can really see the sensitivity and potential that the kids have at this age. They still come to school wide-eyed, respectful, and full of eagerness.
In all honesty, my students have changed my life more than I've changed theirs. They have so little but are so grateful for anything they are given. They've given me a much different outlook in life and it's my goal to provide them with as much education and support as possible before they move on to the next grade.
