I am requesting monitors, sound bar and cable. Due to COVID19, my school district is currently having school virtually. I will need one screen to display and interact with the courseware, and another to view and interact with my students. Up to now, most online Reading Specialist learning platforms have been designed to show the students alongside the courseware. That’s not easily achievable with larger classes. A second screen in this case won’t just be handy, but necessary.
As a middle school Reading Specialist working from home, when in my actual classroom I had the advantage of multi-screen setups, where I had different applications running on separate screens. Having the specific programs working on my main screen, and calendars and tasks displayed on the second screen. This was very useful for teaching multiple lessons and multi grade level lessons throughout the day.
A dual monitor setup is a highly effective way to step up at home as a virtual online teacher. Even if teaching smaller groups or one-to-one lessons, having two monitors will enable me to be more productive and with the right setup, I can enjoy a more comfortable and convenient viewing experience while teaching from home.
