My students excel when they are able to move while we are learning. Allowing students to actively engage their bodies while learning helps strengthen both motor skills and cognitive abilities. Wiggling while we work also helps students concentrate for longer periods of time. With the funds from DonorsChoose.org, we would be able to incorporate flexible seating such as wobble chairs and balance balls into our classroom. Research has shown that students who are offered flexible seating get better grades, are happier, and are more engaged throughout the day. I would like to be able to offer this opportunity to my students to ensure they are as successful as they can be.
