Teaching at a Montessori school has it's privileges. My students are independent learners who have a true love of learning and researching new information. I teach 25 happy first, second, and third graders who make me happy every day. In the Montessori style of teaching, teachers follow each individual child's needs. Every single student learns at their own pace, so it's important for students to master certain concepts before new ones can be introduced. Math and language work is differentiated for all students on a daily basis, but they generally all study the same material when it comes to other subjects like science, history, and geography. This is my second year as a teacher, so my own accumulation of materials and resources has really only just begun. This is also only the third year of our school's existence, so as a whole, we do not have a large supply of supplemental science materials. We are working together to build the foundation of an amazing, successful Montessori school.
