In order for our students to maintain and increase their reading levels we have to not only keep them interested in different types of books we have to keep them interested in reading in general. Providing the students an incentive is an easy way for us to get them reading several books in such a short period of time. When you go to an amusement park one of the things that most kids notice is the prize station, and by associating reading with an attraction as such will allow them to view literacy in a different way. Making reading fun is the mission for educators of young people, and if this project is done successfully this will allow kids to see reading more of a hobby rather than a homework assignment. Since we are a literacy focused school my students reading progress is paramount, and whatever we can do to promote this is always the goal.
