The use of the Smartboard and whiteboard is a daily activity in my classroom, especially in reading and phonics. Students come to either my Smartboard or the white board for whole group instruction. This has not been an issue in the past because they were on the same wall. This year I changed classrooms and my two boards are on two different sides of the classroom now. By helping purchase these cushions, they will no longer be sitting on the cold tile floor for whole group instruction, but they will also have some freedom to sit around the room as they complete their work. The cushions will allow students who have a hard time focusing on their work in a traditional chair, the flexibility to sit in a quiet spot around the room. They can also use them during 'read to a buddy'. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
