My students are phenomenal. They face more obstacles throughout their daily lives then I do in a month. Many come from homes with only one parent, and some without either. For some, the only meals they eat are here at school. However, our students overcome these trials and they show up everyday eager to learn. We are centered in a high poverty area, and our school reaps the "benefits". Books seem to be very hard to come by. They just aren't high on the priority list.
