My students come from all parts of the world, including Nigeria, Vietnam, and Iraq, and this creates a very diverse atmosphere for learning. They live in low-income families and many do not have access to computers at home. About half of my students are English language learners and they have an incredible thirst for knowledge. They speak many different languages, such as Spanish, Vietnamese, and Arabic. It is truly a unique learning experience when students make connections from their culture to the curriculum being taught. My campus goes above and beyond to make sure these students get the same opportunities as average income families. Every classroom includes three or more student computers with up-to-date technology. The four in my classroom are used daily for online programs, classroom projects, and student creations.
