I teach in a rural school in an area in which cell phone and Internet service is scare. This means that it is impossible to access the internet on your phone, unless you are connected to wifi. Most people have no idea what a disadvantage this is! These kids are hardworking farm kids, with the desire to make a positive effect on society. I desperately want to provide each student with the same competitive advantages as other students. Technology offers teachers extraordinary capacities. It provides innovative tools and flexibility to engage students and work smarter. The internet can break boundaries, and make any subject accessible no matter where you live. It is my goal to see that these students have access to the vast breadth and depth of educational materials and information available on the Internet in order to be prepared to contribute to society and compete in the 21st century.
