My students are an amazing group of young men who are between 15 and 18 years old. My students are advocates for their needs and all have a very profound idea of what they want their post-school lives to look like and what they need to do to reach their goals. All of them have expressed to me that they want to be stronger readers during the course of the school year. They do not use their disabilities as an excuse, but rather view them as obstacles to overcome on their path to success. I want nothing more out of my job than to help them succeed and reach these goals and I am fortunate enough to work in a school which values this principle first and foremost.
