Many of my students suffer from anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions most likely due to their families leaving their homelands under traumatic circumstances. Behavioral issues are common in the classroom. Their academic progress is inherently disrupted. Having a separate cozy corner in the classroom where students can sit, read or play with calming fidget toys would be really beneficial for my students. So, I've designed a small safe-space with a carpet, pillows that are easily cleaned, small fidget toys, Legos books and magazines. A place to calm down and feel safe.
