My classroom is filled with rambunctious, enthusiastic, and playful kiddos. Students in my classroom come from many backgrounds and speak many different languages, from Spanish to Haitian Creole. Many of the students in my classroom come from a low socio-economic background, which means school may be the one safe place they consistently get food, attention, and emotional support. We start every day in our classroom with a greeting, group activity, morning message, and time for sharing. We are a tight-knit classroom community of students who are learning not only the skills needed to be successful in school, but also the skills needed to be a good friend. My students make me laugh more than anything else on the planet! They are so honest and they surprise me every day with their fresh perspective on the world. It is a privilege to be their teacher!
