This year in kindergarten, we are focusing on weather throughout the different seasons. Within the study of weather, students can develop a strong understanding of plant life, animal life, and how weather influences people on a day to day basis. My co-teacher and I want to provide our students with many opportunities to explore nature. Sometimes, that also includes bringing students outside while it is raining and snowing. Many things change and look different in the rain and in the snow. We want to prepare them for that kind of weather by getting them each a raincoat. Our families are excited for our students to begin this level of student-based inquiry. Many of them have already asked to volunteer. These raincoats will be used with our class this year as well as future kindergarten classes.
