My students struggle with various types of speech & language disorders such as expressive language disorder and receptive language disorder. In addition, many also have learning disabilities to overcome. Students thrive once they are able to communication with others. The ability to express themselves and be understood improves their behavior, alleviates frustration and improves self-esteem. My primary goals of therapy are to teach children strategies for comprehending spoken language and to produce appropriate communicative behavior. Close communication with the students and their parents is essential as I help parents learn ways of encouraging their children's communication skills. Our children WANT to communicate, and whatever the most efficient way to communicate for them, they will gravitate toward. Technology has been a very effective way of reaching students who have speech & language delays. We use various programs and apps which the children truly enjoy.
