Through past Donors Choose projects we have acquired rowers that allow us to interact with other racers around the world. To be able to compete though, we need a screen that allows the rowers to be able to see the competitors from their rowers. This means they need a large screen TV capable of connecting to the computer running the rowing software. Alaska winters are cold and unpredictable. We have limited sports in the winter for kids that want to be part of a team, but excel individually. Cross Country skiing exists, but seasons are unpredictable due to the lack of snow in recent years. Indoor rowing fits the bill for these students perfectly! They can train in Alaska and compete against anyone in the world! Rowing also has the benefit of having no cost to the students, they don't need any special gear that they can't afford.
