Students spend much of their school day in the classroom sitting at their desks. My students are currently using traditional chairs that we've had in the building since it's been built. As we evolve as humans, so has the need to change the way we teach and learn. Flexible seating is a helpful solution to give our active kids the opportunity to wiggle, increase brain function (AND LEARNING), improve posture, and so much more. Flexible seating, like the Hokki stool, gives kids the opportunity to move without distraction while they are seated and learning. I currently have three Hokki stools in my classroom and see how much they benefit the students that are able to use them. When I asked one of the users how they like it he said, "I like to move when I work and it lets me." I would love to give more of my kids the opportunity to move. Students that use regular chairs with four legs often try to rock in them which isn't safe. Eight Hokki stools that are specifically designed to let kids move would make a positive impact in our classroom.
