ours is an alternative school within Richmond (VA) Public Schools, and includes students from 6th to 12th grades. This is an urban school system, with a high percentage of students qualifying for public assistance, resulting in frequent underachievement that teachers and administrators are dedicated to reversing. Two of my classes are SAT Prep, with 11th and 12th graders. Students often lack adequate preparation for college admissions tests such as SATs and for college work after graduation. Our school has an initiative to increase college acceptance rates, and improvement in SAT scores is a means to accomplish that. I am advocating for more SAT Prep classes, and with a class set of such a book, the number of classes is not an issue.
