I am dedicated to the school where I teach and coach. The school would be classified as a suburban high school although a majority of our students are non-neighbor, urban, in-district transfer students. This fact is echoed through the demographics of the student body that is approximately and generally divided in the following areas: 55% African American, 20% Hispanic, 15% Asian and 10% Caucasian. Our school services 2400 students. Our school is a Title 1 school with more than half of the total student body eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch Program. While our school offers an accelerated college program to approximately 400 of our students, 2000 students are functioning in the general education student population. My student-athletes are among the 2000. They are strong willed young men/women that need focus, that need discipline, and that need a sport to propel them into a future they have not yet dreamed.
