My students are from a highly diversified urban area in New Jersey. In my middle school, Auditory Impaired Multiple Disabilities classroom, language is a struggle for my students. Some of the students communicate utilizing American Sign Language while some utilize signed English in combination with Spoken English. With a wide variety of disabilities, like language delays caused by their deafness in combination with being cognitively delayed, my students struggle with the basics of language both written and spoken. I am always looking to challenge and motivate my students to become independent adults.
