PES is a PES in Chicago. The principal of PES is Rigo Hernandez. In total there are 585 students that are classified as "economically disadvantaged", moreover 96% get reduced lunch prices. The ratio of students to teachers at PES is 20:1. Students are primary Hispanic, African American, and Caucasian. As the 6th grade teacher for three classes, a total of 70 students my duty is to teach, and make sure my students have the necessary tools to succeed. Teaching students, a leader has to recognize different learning styles through Individual Education Plans, reading instructions out load, having visual aids, giving real life examples, and maintaining interesting lessons. One prime example on how empowering students with technology will be having access through technology with Interactive Math tools (IXL). Interactive tools is a new way of combining online resources that will invite parents, students.
