My students come to us from two districts. They are students who choose to come to the career and technology center with the hopes of either going directly out to begin their career, going on to a technical school, or attending a college or university. We have students in courses such as engineering/automation, medical professions, carpentry, and horticulture. The best part of my teaching day is that I get to go into any of these classes and integrate math into their chosen career field. I start my lesson with, "I will only teach you math that you will need to succeed in (program)". I love taking math and making it relevant to all students. My students are all on free or reduced price lunch and can benefit with any additional materials which our teachers can provide for them. My school of 1,200 students, is a school that students are proud to attend to become better students regardless of where they go in the future.
