My students seem to be more engaged, enjoy and learn better by doing labs and experiments related to the topics we cover. Force and torque are a couple important concepts we learn in physics and mechanics. These balances and friction apparatus would allow our students to not only be more engaged but also learn about force, torque and static equilibrium and understand the concepts. These tools would not only remove the amount of busywork our students do during labs, but also help them see how we can apply our knowledge in more practical ways. We hope that by getting a set of new balances and friction apparatus for our students they can more easily interact with the data and science involved in their studies and make these concepts more accessible for all.
