I work with an amazing group of third graders in a low-income area in New Jersey. For many of my students, English is their second language and they are often not confident speaking, reading and writing in English. They have such wonderful ideas and enthusiasm, but many feel that they are not good writers and as a result, they get nervous and intimidated when writing.
