Each day for a portion of the day, the students are encouraged to find a location of their choice in the classroom and participate in engaged independent reading. Providing Amazon Fire 7 tablets and TIME For Kids magazines in the classroom will allow enhance reading in the classroom and continue to increase the levels of excitement for learning in school. Technology is constantly evolving and growing, it is important to ensure students are exposed and kept current with technological advances. Tablets in the classroom will also benefit all of my students who need differentiated levels of instruction in reading. English Language Learners, Gifted students, typical peers, and students with learning disabilities will all be able to access literacy at their appropriate reading levels without frustration. Students will have a larger variety of literacy options right at their fingertips.
