My students come from low income homes. While a lot of people enjoy having books in their homes my students don't. They have low reading scores, and mostly picture read. I am testing each student to find out what their reading level is according to the guided reading scale our district uses. However, these students aren't well adapted to getting books on their reading level. The Book Boxes will help them with this task. At the beginning of each week students will choose 5 leveled books to be in their box to read each week. They will then be able to experience continual success in reading. This will increase their love of books and increase their reading level.
