The students that I teach come from many different backgrounds. Some of them have never experienced a dance class until they come to middle school. They are a group of vibrant children who are eager to learn. The school where I teach is a low income, Title 1 School, where 93% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. I believe in the power of the fine arts ! I have seen how my student's faces light up when it comes to performance time. I would like for my students to grasp the many concepts of ballet training which is an integral part of dance education, but due to the spacing, my students are not able to do so. I have 20-25 students in my classes and they cannot execute the dance steps properly due to a crowded ballet barre which causes frustration for my students. My students would be so grateful to have extra ballet barres to take ballet class!
