Technology is one of the most pervasive forces in our society today. We use it both to connect and detach, to save time and to waste time. We're especially dependent on those who make their living by creating, powering and supporting our electronics and information systems. Employment numbers are already high within the tech industry. The U.S. expects to have 1.4 million computing jobs by the year 2020 and only 400,000 computer science students. There’s a big gap that we need to fix. Technology careers are one of the fastest-growing fields in the nation. This is why I encourage students to learn Computer Science. Technology is in every field. We tell our kids to study what the like, whether is art, nursing, teaching, etc. But, sometimes we fail to tell them that in every career there’s problem solving. Computer Science is problem solving, which is an essential skill for life.
