My students range from Non-Verbal to verbal. Even though they are 7th and 8th graders, they read at a kindergaren to first grade level. We concentrate on the life skills they will need to help their future housemates/family. The majority of these students will not be able to live on their own. They will always need someone with them for safety and health reasons. This is an energetic group of students. They are always on the move and willing to try anything I ask them as a group. They are trying to act like the kids they see around them while learning what is acceptable and what is not.
