Our city has 40% poverty. Many of my students have limited or no access to technology as enrichment at home. My goal is to bring them experiences they won't otherwise have. I want them to view school as thrilling and instill a love of learning that will inspire them to be the best they can be. My 14 years of teaching has shown me that I need to engage a generation that has grown up with television and video game stimulus. They aren't wowed by the teaching of my childhood. My task is to teach the classic standards in new and dynamic ways. This new generation has the potential to accomplish more at a younger age than any previous generation, Unfortunately, our new tech focus can also easily lead to a sedentary life of games and staring at screens. I want to use technology in it's BEST way. To get my students moving and get their hands on learning. When I try to teach them a new game they rush to see what I'm doing. I believe this camera will bring them all a front row seat on the action
