As a social studies teacher, I often like to show images, and video, and roleplay locations, places, and events. Using these resources we could take this to the next level allowing students to virtually be at these places and events in 3D (like a holodeck from Star Trek). Being able to interact, to see and "feel" a location would make a lasting impression, a more powerful lesson, and help drive the lesson and themes home. It's something I never could have afforded on my own, but this opportunity could help do that.
