This year my first grade class consists of 18 students that are smart, caring, independent, and love to learn. Everyday my students walk into our classroom eager and absorb so much throughout the day. Many of the students at our school, and in my classroom, come from a lower income, rural community. The majority have few resources at home to support their learning, and many do not have access to a public library. Although they may be underprivileged, my students are kind, thoughtful, and considerate to one another. One of the goals for our school this year is to improve our reading instruction to help our students read their highest potential. We plan on doing this though differentiated instruction. When you enter our school whether it's for a school activity or just a typical school day you will see volunteers and community involvement. We are very fortunate to have a very supportive and involved community.
