I have 75 students in Jazz Band, keyboard, guitar, choir, and solo literature. We start with basic music theories, then we learn to read music, then learn to play music, and even learn to write our own music. My students work with students in our school's dance and theater departments as well as students in science. In fact, my school supports and encourages cross disciplinary partnerships of all kinds. We all understand that learning to think creatively to solve problems and deepen our critical inquiry is imperative to our students' success.
