I am a guidance counselor in a high poverty high school. Our students' parents can't afford the after school lessons and activities that they would like for their children. Therefore, staff members are encouraged to sponsor clubs, giving students a safe afternoon destination combined with an activity and a chance to spend leisure time with their friends.
