I teach in a special education setting. My students have a specially designed instruction, to meet their needs. Daily, my students struggle with reading, writing and mathematics because of their special needs. In order for my students to work to their full potential, they need the most current technology. My students learn best through using a visual and hands on approach. I am requesting iPads for my classroom so I can use them during English Language Arts and Math small group instruction. Using iPads in my classroom, will help my students increase their reading, writing and math skills. Let's all face it; a majority of children learn best through technology! I will utilize apps to help the students increase their basic reading and reading comprehension skills. These apps will allow students to be able to read a variety of books at their reading level. In the area of math the students will be able to utilize apps increasing their skills in math facts and applied problem solving.
