Our students are 5th graders enrolled in a Special Education Class. They have struggled to learn to read and write for many years. Now that they have the technology and power to choose, this intervention program has created a lot of self directed, excited, and even competitive learners. Without the headsets, we can not fully utilize the program. The program assesses their need, places them under instruction specific to their needs, and students have to listen, click, and speak into the microphone to verify learning. As a teacher, I monitor their progress, and provide small group instructional support to their specific needs/topics they are on during rotations. Our school is a Title One school, that has just received the honor of being recognized as a California Distinguished School. Sadly, our school has been burglarized several times over the past two months where computers, document cameras, and headsets have been stolen from the school. My goal is to replace those headsets.
