I have the privilege of teaching 31 fourth grade students (18 boys and 13 girls). Although the elementary school is in a rough neighborhood and most of my students are English Learners, my students are passionate and eager to learn. They enjoy all subjects, especially Math and Science. Our school opened 4 years ago due to overcrowding in nearby schools. The school started with about 400 students, and now we currently have over 900 students enrolled. Our API score is 677 out of 1000. The school is a PI (program improvement school) since it failed to make adequate yearly progress. Although this is my first year at this school, I am committed and completely dedicated to making academic gains for my students.
