My students are energetic, active 3rd and 4th graders who absolutely love sports activities and games. Our district offers PE twice a week starting in Kindergarten. By the time the students get to this school, they look forward to the different sports and activities and are eager to find out what 3rd/4th grade PE will involve. When we hold a schoolwide contest or competition, they get so excited when they hear that one of the prizes is "extra PE time"! Field Day is one of our most popular activities, involving 30 different activity stations and plenty of parent and community support! One of the biggest challenges of PE is getting the students to understand the importance of physical fitness in life. Since they understand the importance of technology, what better way to validate PE than by infusing technology into our program. The best way to do this is by using iPad minis in sturdy cases!
