My school is a title 1 school, where students are from low income families. Many students come from other countries and English is their second language. Families often have parents who need to work long hour or several jobs to keep their family fed and cared for. Some students have access to computers or technology that has Internet at home, but I often find that the younger students aren't allowed to use it because its "for mom's work" or "my brother in high school never lets me use it". My students are amazing. They are kind, caring and interested in learning everything! When anything new is presented to them they stop dead in their tracks, light up, eat it up. They are so eager for knowledge. They count on us, their teachers to provide them with this information with opportunities they cannot be given at home.
