My school is a special place. It is a place were students don't just sit at desks, they get on their feet. They get their hands on cameras, and tell stories. They use the medium of film to express themselves, to find themselves, and to say things that can benefit the world. I have students that are creative and passionate. Students that are driven. East Hollywood High School is a place that also opens its doors wide to students who feel like the don't fit in at other schools. All students, no matter their shape, size, the color of their hair, the origins of their family, or no matter how bad they've struggled in school in the past, are welcome at our school. Students who may have been given a hard time because of the who they are can feel at home here, and they do. East Hollywood is a place where people can be themselves, and not judged for it. The vision is to be a safe place where film and individualized education help students discover and realize their life goals.
