The materials in this project are for the students of our school located in the heart of New Orleans, to work on their beautiful new garden. Our students will be using garden tools, books and other materials in this project to explore the world and to enhance their science, art and nutrition knowledge. We will be working on growing a variety of edible plants and learning just how important the plant world is to our growth and happiness on this planet. Our science teachers cannot wait to let our students get their hands dirty and really see what they are studying in class come to life before their eyes. We also cannot wait to work on other skills that gardening can teach, such as building a community, learning to respect the world around us and knowing about where we get our food. The students of our school will not just be cultivating some beautiful plants; they will be cultivating themselves!
