Young students are often much more ambitious than adults give them credit for. Students in several of our classes are discovering the atom and what makes the elements. They are working on self-directed exploration of the periodic table and what makes up the things around them. We have books on the elements, but a true scientist learns by getting their hands on something. We are trying to raise money to purchase atom building games that are students can use to model and study the elements. These boards include a periodic table as well as cards with specifications for each element's atom.
