One of the hardest struggles my students experience is with reading; which affects every other area of their academics and independence. They are all at varying reading levels and all are multiple levels behind their age-level peers. This has caused many of them to no longer enjoy reading. All of my students enjoy hearing stories read aloud to them and it helps increase their comprehension of what is read. The more they understand, the more they will love to read. The more they enjoy it, the more they will read. This will increase their success of becoming independent adults. I have purchased multiple headphones in the past, but they need to be replaced often due to low quality. I believe having quality headphones will open up a whole new world of reading to my students. Also, the microphones will give my students a chance to hear themselves reading and encourage them to work on accuracy and fluency.
