Pre-k students often struggle to effectively communicate their wants and needs verbally, therefore, they learn to communicate and make connections in alternate ways. In order to boost the retention of information and to encourage participation and involvement, the classroom atmosphere should feel safe and inviting. Having colorful family photographs, classroom photo books, and other visuals will assist in creating this environment. Visuals also act as constant reminders that help ESL students. Having a high-quality readily available printer in the classroom would help to provide a print and photo rich environment that will positively impact and support children’s social emotional development. The use of a high-quality printer will also help in supporting the creation of many hands-on Math and Literacy projects. This printer was chosen because of the high quality and high yield printing that is needed and also because of the availability of this type of replacement ink on campus already.
