Usually when I order books from here I have my ninth graders in mind, but not this time. This time I want to concentrate on my tenth graders. I love my tenth graders, and I especially love their thirst for good reading material. My tenth graders really feel in touch with the hero that is from outside society, and the idea of fighting against oppression. Perhaps, this is the reason behind their love of 1984 and Anthem. Nonetheless, my tenth graders this year read anything I put in front of them, but their hands down favorite was not a book about a hero from outside society’s norm. It was a little play called Arsenic and Old Lace. The reason for their affection was recommendations from my former students, and the fact that the theme or message of the play was hidden under comedy.
