Academically, my students have tested lower in reading than their peers, which is why they have ended up in my class. We have created a community in our classroom to work together in order to succeed. Our school is a 6th - 8th grade middle school located in a suburban town. Our support class is unique to our school because it gives the students an opportunity to see their English teacher twice in one day. Not only are we able to work on basic reading and writing, but I am also able to provide additional support for their current English assignments.
